If you’ve never made honeycomb before, don’t worry, I’ll walk you through it step by step.
How to Make Honeycomb
Step 1 Melt the Sugar
In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water.
Heat over medium, stirring until everything dissolves.
Step 2 Let It Cook
Stop stirring and let it cook until it turns a deep golden color.
Step 3 Add Baking Soda
Remove from heat and quickly stir in baking soda.
It will foam up and expand, this is what creates the honeycomb texture. (It’s so awesome!)
Step 4 Let It Set
Pour onto parchment paper and let it cool completely.
Step 5 Break Into Pieces
Once hardened, break into chunks and use as a topping.
If you don’t want to make honeycomb, you can skip it or drizzle a little honey over the peaches instead.
