I love New Year’s Eve because every year our family spends it together. We don’t do anything special, but being together is what’s special…and I don’t want to miss a minute of it. We usually play games, watch the ball drop on TV and eat simple but yummy food. This year, I picked up a Cracker Barrel Cheese Tray at Walmart. It makes snacks so easy because the cheese is already cut and will fit on crackers perfectly. Yay! That means one less thing to do and more time to enjoy the night! I’ve also got some easy ideas for quick 2016 decor and a freebie for you! Read on!
I like to decorate for the holidays, but when it comes to New Year’s Eve, I keep it simple with fun decor. This year, I’ve created 2016 glasses to use as photo props. Aren’t they fun? They’re easy too! I’ve included the file you’ll need to make them. Simply cut them out and glue them to a straw for some fun photos.

I used gold metallic cardstock to create the glasses and the back of the 2016 banner. For the front of the banner, I used white glitter paper. Want to create a larger banner? Cut out several of the 2016 banner pieces and string them together. The holes line up with both the background and the foreground pieces. Add a thin ribbon and string it up!

Attaching a banner piece to these gold striped straws is a simple but fun addition to the table.
Use the leftover stars from the glasses to decorate the table. The stars on the straws are actually cute pins. I keep reusing them!
Keep your camera ready for fun photos!
Have a super fun holiday!
What a fun idea! I’m all about easy finger foods for New Year’s Eve – even when it’s just us celebrating at home! I love that the cheese is already pre-cut. I’m not the best at slicing cheese so that the cuts are uniform! Little touches like the banner and glasses definitely make the night more memorable! Happy New Year! (client)
