BBQ Decorated Mason Jar & Cricut Create a Friend Cartridge Giveaway
Did you see the video I made a few days ago where I showed the adorable Cricut Create a Friend cartridge? It’s so cute! Well, guess what? Memory Miser is giving away a Cricut Create a Friend cartridge AND a new Universal Overlay to one Joy’s Life follower! I used the Create a Friend cartridge to decorate this little Mason jar full of my husband’s awesome BBQ sauce. We give this away to friends when they come over for BBQ’s. This is a great gift for any BBQ guests during the upcoming Labor Day weekend!
A lot of people asked me about the new Universal Overlay and how it would function with the Cricut Expression 2 or Cricut Imagine. Well, here it is on the E2. Frankly, I love it! It’s so much easier to navigate than the old way.
Everything is listed in the booklet with numbers like F1+S+31 which means click F1 then the Shift and the 31st key. Each row is numbered starting with #1, so the first number on the fourth row is 31. I’ll show you soon in a video but trust me, it’s not difficult once you try it out.
Somebody needs to get dressed! We’ll have him fixed up in a jiffy. He’s very easy to layer.
I’m using a Martha Stewart glue pen. I really like it! It makes a fine glue line which is perfect for these small pieces. I also recommend the Zig 2 Way glue pens.
Close up of this cutie pie Grill Master! I used Glue Dots to hold the grill on the front and also to adhere the ribbon to the Mason jar top. Pop dots are holding the grill master upright. I covered them with washi tape so they’d look nice (and not be sticky) on the areas that show.
I also used pop dots and Zip Dry paper glue to hold the straws to the BBQ sign. I used Glue Dots to help hold a piece of ribbon from one straw to the other, then I brought my banner punches (you saw them here) back out to make that cute banner.

Don’t forget, you can keep up with all the Cricut cartridges you have or want with the My Cartridge Checklist APP or printable list! The APP includes EVERY CARTRIDGE so be sure to use your MENU button to sync your APP to make sure it has all the new carts on it!

Glad you’re back! I think this one is much easier than paper dolls. One thing I like a lot about it is that the faces cut out easily. I remember having a lot of trouble with the Paper Dolls one when it came to faces. The layering is really simple too. I really like it! Thank you about my puppy! I just had a great time running around in the back yard with her. She’s getting so big but is soooo sweet!

Although I have over 70 cricut and imagine cartridges, I have yet to purchase one of the new cartridges in the small box. I sure was excited to see the Create a Friend come out last week and would have to say that is the one for me.
