This project is so much fun!  How to make a sealed 2 liter soda bottle with gifts inside! I made one back in 2009:  See my first 2 liter bottle post here and a back to college one here but a video makes it so much easier to learn! These make fun, puzzle like gift containers.  They’re perfect for lots of occasions and a variety of ages.  This one is for a teenager.

In this video, I’m using a heat knife to cut my 2 liter bottle, a Scotch brand tape dispenser with Scotch clear packing or sealing tape.  I talk about but don’t show a paper crimper and a hand crank paper shredder.  I also mention this cool dollar bill heart fold that I pinned to my Cool Crafty Ideas Pinterest board.  Check out all my Pinterest boards and I hope you’ll follow me too!

I hope you have fun making this!  The teenage boy that received this LOVED IT!  He put it in his Mt. Dew bottle collection.  Um…I’m hoping that area stays cool ’cause chocolate covered money tastes awful.  LOL!

Go DEW something crafty today!

  1. I always enjoy your videos, Joy! I remember when you made this before, then it slipped my mind! I’m determined to make
some this year for Christmas gifts! I need to pick up a heat knife! Thanks for sharing the best ideas with us!

  2. Here’s another thought Joy. Why not punch a hole in the bottom and drain the pop out first. That way the lid stays “locked” on and makes it seem more impossible that there is something in there!

    1. That’s a good idea, Pam! You’d have to wipe it out really well from the inside. Well, I guess you could still fill it with water and swish it out! That really IS a cool idea, Pam! 😀
