BBQ Decorated Mason Jar & Cricut Create a Friend Cartridge Giveaway
Did you see the video I made a few days ago where I showed the adorable Cricut Create a Friend cartridge? It’s so cute! Well, guess what? Memory Miser is giving away a Cricut Create a Friend cartridge AND a new Universal Overlay to one Joy’s Life follower! I used the Create a Friend cartridge to decorate this little Mason jar full of my husband’s awesome BBQ sauce. We give this away to friends when they come over for BBQ’s. This is a great gift for any BBQ guests during the upcoming Labor Day weekend!
A lot of people asked me about the new Universal Overlay and how it would function with the Cricut Expression 2 or Cricut Imagine. Well, here it is on the E2. Frankly, I love it! It’s so much easier to navigate than the old way.
Everything is listed in the booklet with numbers like F1+S+31 which means click F1 then the Shift and the 31st key. Each row is numbered starting with #1, so the first number on the fourth row is 31. I’ll show you soon in a video but trust me, it’s not difficult once you try it out.
Somebody needs to get dressed! We’ll have him fixed up in a jiffy. He’s very easy to layer.
I’m using a Martha Stewart glue pen. I really like it! It makes a fine glue line which is perfect for these small pieces. I also recommend the Zig 2 Way glue pens.
Close up of this cutie pie Grill Master! I used Glue Dots to hold the grill on the front and also to adhere the ribbon to the Mason jar top. Pop dots are holding the grill master upright. I covered them with washi tape so they’d look nice (and not be sticky) on the areas that show.
I also used pop dots and Zip Dry paper glue to hold the straws to the BBQ sign. I used Glue Dots to help hold a piece of ribbon from one straw to the other, then I brought my banner punches (you saw them here) back out to make that cute banner.

Don’t forget, you can keep up with all the Cricut cartridges you have or want with the My Cartridge Checklist APP or printable list! The APP includes EVERY CARTRIDGE so be sure to use your MENU button to sync your APP to make sure it has all the new carts on it!
My favorite is the Create a Friends cartridge.
It would come in real handy making bulletin board stuff for school and real cute cards.

Joy – what a cute cut! My husband and son-in-law are self-proclaimed “Pit Masters” ha… and enter several local cook-offs so they would really love something like that. My favorite Cartridge is Create a Friend because it has a figure skater & cheerleader which are my favorite sports and i use to be a cheerleader in high school …i would love to make cards with this cartridge..looks like fun…so cute

I love the Create a Friend cart. I have 10 grandchildren. For each birthday, I decorate a gift bag with PDDU dolls and outfits. This would be perfect to add some new options.
How KI–UTE! I love this little guy! Had to LOL when I saw him laying there naked…. poor thing! My husband is a grill-master as well and I can see so many uses for this adorable cartridge. This was the 1st one I had seen (via your video earlier) and I had never heard of Memory Miser until just now so thanks for the introduction! I love them all but if I had to choose a favorite, it would be the Anna Griffin Winter Wonderland. Love your BBQ gift idea and your cuts always turn out perfect. I know you like to use the multi cut….which I have tried….and it’s hit or miss. Either it turns out beautiful or a horrible mess. Will keep practicing though lol. I would have to say the Create A Friend is my favorite. It is one of the cutest cartridges they have come out with in a long time. I use the Gypsy for all of my Cricut cuttings, so I don’t normally use the overlay. I love the little bar b que jar-what a great hostess gift idea!
