No Sew Felt Gift Card or Candy Holder with Cut’N’Boss

There’s something so warm and cozy about making projects with felt around the holidays.  This whole project could have just as easily been made with paper but the felt?  It just makes whatever’s given in those little pouches seem like even more of a treat to me.  Want easy?  This is a no sew project!

If you’re using a chunky die like this Pocket with Scallop Edges Sizzix #659768 die, you’ll want to layer your Cut’n’Boss platform with D on the bottom, A, the die face up, the felt and another A platform.  Use whatever die you have that makes a bag or envelope shape.  I’m using super cheap felt from the craft store.

Check out this wreath I made using craft felt!

After the bag came out, I cut off a few of the extra pieces that it had.  They were for folding over and gluing when you’re using paper.  I didn’t need the added bulk.  Next, I cut out these pretty pieces from the Teresa Collins Cut’n’Boss “Thankful” Holiday Steel Die Set.  You saw them in my last felt post.  They’re so versatile!

You know I love it…Fabri-Tac!  I used that to glue the bags closed both at the bottom and the sides.  I used a wooden skewer to add Fabri-Tac to the tiny parts of the leaves.  Easy and so pretty!  Do you like to make things out of felt?

Here’s another “no sew” project you might enjoy!

Happy Crafting!

  1. What a fabulous way to use those felt scraps! Love this idea and I really need to get some of that glue! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

  2. Thank you Michele! I’m always amazed at what can be made with just felt and fabric glue. It’s so fun! Happy felt crafting!

  3. This is adorable! Thank you for the tip on the glue too! Can this glue work for adhering acrylic rhinestones to the felt too? I know some glues eat the foul backing off or won’t hold at all. Thanks again! Lovely project!

    1. Hi Misty,
The Fabri-tac adhesive works with fabric, lace, leather and trim (according to the bottle). You might try these adhesives for adhering rhinestones. They are some of my favorites and all work great: E6000 – this is the strongest glue but is sometimes gloppy. It will even glue glass to glass. Diamond Glaze and Glossy Accents are both great clear adhesives but with a lighter hold than E6000. You might try Gem Tac which is made for holding rhinestones. I haven’t tried it, but it’s made by Beacon Adhesives and I really like the products they make. I hope that helps! 🙂
