Cricut Word Collage Vinyl Scrapbooking Canvas Bag with Gypsy

I decorated this bag for little ‘ole me to carry around at the Creating Keepsakes Convention I attended in Charlotte, NC last weekend.  It was great to have a special bag to carry some of my purchases.  I’d be telling a tall tale if I said all my purchases fit in this bag.  I’d need some Harry Potter magic to make a bag that big.  LOL!

I’m using HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) to create this bag.

It’s true that I used the Cricut Word Collage Cartridge to help me make this, but I made it fit my specific interests.  Instead of keeping the words and lettering the way they were, I used the Gypsy to hide the word “Cricut” and I replaced it with the word “vinyl”. I love my Cricut, but I really wanted to showcase vinyl instead.  I used the Cricut Lite Carousel Cartridge to spell “vinyl”.  Why is it all backwards on my Gypsy?  You must FLIP lettering when using iron on vinyl or it will all be facing the wrong direction when you iron it on.

Once I used the Cricut Lite Carousel cartridge to decorate a car wash I made out of a Kleenex box.

I cut some of the words apart and arranged them like I wanted them. I also made a mistake “had a learning opportunity”. Do you see what I’m about to do wrong? If you said, “Yes!”, then I blame you entirely for not speaking up earlier. If you said, “No.”, then I’ll explain it to you while we glare at the people who said yes. Do you see the little white line of vinyl near the “f” in “papercraft”? Well, I didn’t. This is why you shouldn’t iron late at night. I didn’t see it at all and I ironed it right onto my project. What’s worse is that I continued to iron down the other words before I noticed. Me needed sleep. Me talk and craft like Cookie Monster.

I watch tv while I craft, hence the remote.

I used white and gold iron on vinyl for this project.  I got that pink bag from a very exclusive store called…WalMart.  LOL!  This bag came in a pack of 3 which also included a blue and a green bag.  I was happy to find some fun colors, because I’ve been using plain ones.  This pink is a nice change!

Here’s a white Sewing / Quilting vinyl Canvas Bag I created using Cricut Word Collage.

Love the bag Joy. I’m going to have to give this a try. Wish I could have gone to CKC Saturday. I bet it was a lot better there than here on the fringes of Irene.

  6. I LOVE the bag even with the boo-boo! Of course I took a good long look to see your mistake at first but I thought it was the plastic or whatever you call it… and that it just needed to be cut a little bit… I guess I’m not one to pay attention for too long! LOL I think I may have to go to that exclusive store and get me some bags… I like that it was a 3 pack… because I LOVE blue, and my son LOVES green and I could give the pink one to someone I’m sure…. 😉
    Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

  8. I really like this bag and how you tailored it to your own style. Shame about the little error but at least it doesn’t stand out too much and is still usable.
