52 – Episode 2: How to Make Bottle Cap Necklaces with UTEE

Thanks for baring with me while I was out sick last week!  I’m on the mend and ready to share this new crafty video with you.  I hope you enjoy it and I hope you’ll give this fun craft a try.  It’s quick, easy and can I just say fun again?  FUN!

In this video, I use Clear UTEE, a Melt Art Melting PotBottle Cap Hole Punch 1.8mm, a Bottle Cap Sticker Book and Bottle Caps.

I bought my bottle caps, ball chains and jump rings from several different craft stores.  The exact sticker book that I used in the video came from Hobby Lobby.  You don’t have to use that specific Bottle Cap Hole Punch.  Just look for a metal hole punch that makes a 1.8mm hole.  Here’s another option: Metal Hole Punch Pliers 1.8mm.

52 is on hiatus temporarily due to illness.

I learned how make these at Archiver’s last month. I bought most of the stuff to make them, but I bought some mod podge resin stuff instead of the melting pot and utee. I haven’t made one yet, but I need to! I also know that you can flatten the bottle caps fairly evenly by using a big shot in case you want a flatter version for cards or scrapbook pages. I also didn’t do stickers, but my 1″ punch and pretty paper. I think they are a totally fun crafty project!

    1. Hi Jksmitley,
I love smashing bottlecaps in my embossing machines! That is so fun! The 1″ punch is a great way to make a really unique insert for your bottlecap. I’ve got some upcoming projects (that I really need to take the time to post…like NOW,lol) where I use a flattened bottlecap and a 1″ punch with some leftover paper from my stash. Wait. Duh! I also did that in yesterday’s video! Sometimes I can’t keep the projects straight. LOl! Here’s a link to that video: https://joyslife.com/52-episode-3/
      I need a “I heart bottlecaps” shirt! 😉

  2. Great project–I have made these with crystal lacquer but I like how you used the UTEE–now I have to get a melting pot!

    1. Thank you, Sue! I know how that goes. I just had to have a melting pot and now I can’t stop buying different kinds of UTEE! LOL!
