What did one strawberry say to the other?  “Look at the jam you’ve gotten us into!” 😉

You know what I think is great?  There’s a business a few miles from my house and every time I drive by there they have a new joke on their sign.  I hope I never have an accident while I drive by reading their jokes.  😉  They’re always really cute ones too.  I try to remember them so I can tell my joke loving sons.

Well, you were all so sweet to wish me a Happy Birthday!  So, thank you all again!   These strawberry cards were thank you’s that I made for some of my extended family.  My niece made me the NICEST thing EVER!!  She painted a picture for me!!  I’ll take a picture of it soon and post it for you to see.  It was really sweet.  I got other nice things too, but that was a real treasure.

What I Used:

Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut Cartridge – Strawberry pg. 32
(card, berry bottom & top)

Walk in My Garden Cricut Cartridge – Envelope pg. 129

Paper – Green paper for top is New Leaf by PaperTreyInk.com; Red Strawberry paper is (Oh, no…I don’t know.  It came from my scrap stash, sorry!); black cardstock from Stampin’ Up; All Envelope Paper is from K & Co. Urban Designer Paper.

Stickles – Lime Green (on the strawberry stem).  (Click here to learn about Stickles.)

Cuttlebug Embossing Folders – Swiss Dots (strawberry base), D’vine Swirl (stem)

Basics – ATG gun, Zig 2 Way Glue Pen, Scorer (I used one by Provo Craft), Sizzix Big Shot & my red Cricut Expression (whom I fondly named Dean after the older brother in the show Supernatural.  My white Expression’s name is Sam…the younger brother, LOL.) Here you can read about when “Dean” was “born”. 😀

I say use double sided paper to make envelopes!  Also, it’s a great way to use up paper that you’re tired of or don’t have a use for.

This paper was 12×12 and I used the “Fit to Page” button on my Cricut Expression.  The envelope printed at 4.9″ x 4.9″.  So, I made the little strawberry card a bit smaller. 😉  It’s true, I used Souffle 3D opaque pens to write inside the card.  It turned out pretty well, but I’d really suggest a gel pen instead.  I had a few problems writing a note with them.  Maybe it’s because I hold my pen funny?  For real.  If you ever see me sign anything…you’ll know what I mean.  It could be that these pens aren’t meant for note writing and are instead for smaller, more concentrated things…like little drawings and coloring in.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post.  I wanted to use some older cartridges because although they are older (like me on my b’day) they’re still kickin’!! 😀
