Assassin’s Creed Marshmallow Pretzel Popcorn & Vinyl Cups
If you’re a gamer, then you know about Assassin’s Creed. I’ve been a video game fan since the arcade days. It never wore off. Way back in the day, my husband gave me a video game system for our first Christmas together. We spent many late nights with the brother’s Mario. As a family of five now, we all enjoy games and of course we enjoy movies. Family movie and gaming nights are some of the ways we spend time together. So, you can imagine our excitement when one of our game characters makes it to the big screen! I’m talking about the new Assassin’s Creed movie. We made this Assassin’s Creed themed marshmallow pretzel popcorn and cool, vinyl themed cups to enjoy along with the movie. Here’s how to make them both!
Assassin’s Creed Marshmallow Pretzel Popcorn Ingredients
This recipe is a terrific blend of sweet and salty with buttery goodness. We used a full bag of Pop Secret Homestyle popcorn, but I would double this recipe if you have a big enough pot. It’s that good! The ingredients are super simple, just the Pop Secret Homestyle popcorn, butter, mini marshmallows and pretzel sticks. If you want to make colored popcorn, add gel food coloring.
Marshmallow Pretzel Popcorn
Ingredients
- 1 bag of Pop Secret Homestyle microwave popcorn
- 3 Tbsp Butter
- 3 cups Mini Marshmallows
- 3/4 cups Pretzel Sticks
Instructions
- Pop a bag of Pop Secret Homestyle microwave popcorn.
- Sort and discard any unpopped kernels.
- Melt the butter in a pot.
- Add the mini marshmallows.
- Stir butter and marshmallows until combined and melted.
- Add three drops of red food gel after the marshmallows have melted, but are still hot.
- Pour the mixture over the popcorn.
- Stir until coated.
- Add the pretzels.
- Lightly stir taking care not to smash the pretzels.
- Pour onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the mix cool.
- Serve and enjoy!
This Marshmallow Pretzel Popcorn is delicious! Give it a little time to cool before serving, if you don’t want it to be too sticky.
Assassin’s Creed Vinyl Cups
Creating your own themed cups is a great way to celebrate any event. Purchase or create the vinyl image that you want to use. I’m using the Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut my vinyl. I’ve found that the vinyl settings in the software cut Oracal indoor vinyl perfectly. Here’s how to trace and create cut lines in the Silhouette software if you need help.
After you’ve cut your vinyl image, you’ll need to “weed” it. That’s where you pull away the vinyl that you don’t want to use, from the vinyl you do want to use. I use a kraft knife to help me weed and to cut away excess vinyl. I do all of my weeding directly on the mat. Yes, I do use a Cricut mat in my Silhouette. I like these mats the best.
Cover the vinyl image with transfer tape and burnish the vinyl to the tape using a squeegee. That means rub the squeegee (or old gift card) over the top of the transfer tape. The idea is to make the top of the vinyl stick to the transfer tape so you can pick up the image and move it.
Once you’ve got the vinyl stuck to the transfer tape move it to the cup and stick it down. Take your time.
Pull off the transfer tape, slowly. Ta da! You did it!
