How to Make a Post It Note Holder – Vampire Gift

Perfect for Twilight fans or Halloween

I’ve never made a Post It note holder on my own (I did put one together at the 3M booth at CHA, but it had already been scored) so I decided it was time for me to try my hand at it.  I think they’re so cute and fun.  I mean, who can’t use a pack of Post It notes?  Know what I’m sayin’?

Four Scores and Seven Sheets of Paper Ago…

I bought these cute creepy and terrifying sticky notes at the Dollar Spot in Target.  I wasn’t sure where to score the paper so I tried a lot of different measurements (and went through all that paper at the top…and some not shown) until I figured it out.  Here’s what worked!

For 3″x3″ Post It notes:

Cut your Paper to 3-1/4″ x 8 1/2″

Score at 2-1/4″, 2-3/4″, 5-3/4″ and 6-1/4″

After you’ve done all the cutting and scoring, the rest is easy!  All you have to do is glue the sticky notes in the middle, fold the paper up and embellish it however you like.

Silver Nails, Silver Nails…It’s Christmas time in the craft room. LOL! (You are singing that to Silver Bells aren’t you?)

I stuck Glue Dots 1/2-Inch Removable Dots on the outside part of the paper.  Next, I put the non sticky part of a piece of tape on top of the Glue Dots and closed the little wrapper that we made.  That made the tape stick to the inside piece of paper and it allowed the Glue Dots to stick, but not directly to the paper.  That way we can easily open and close the Post It note holder.  YAY!

SUPPLIES:

I used Joy’s Life Halloween Puns stamps for the sentiment.  Check out those stamps and you’ll find some more vampire related sayings that are good for Halloween or any vampire fan!

I also used the DCWV Midnight Spell Paper Stack, Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Punch, and a Marvy Scalloped Square punch for the black and white shapes (where the stamp is).  To create that shape I punched out the square, then shoved the square back into the punch and cut it out again about half way.  It’s not perfect and could use a little trimming, but it worked.  I’m just so proud of myself for using punches!  I told you I thought seeing them would remind me to use them and I was right!  YAY!  Want to see how I store them now?  Click here.

Have a FANGTASTIC DAY!

    1. Scrapper69,
I buy dies from Sizzix too. They sure have a lot of them that simplify things. I’m always forgetting to use them though! LOL! 😉 I’ve got a mummy one I’ve just GOT to go use.
Does mine open differently than most? I didn’t even know that. Can you imagine what I might have learned had I searched about it before I started making it? LOL!
      Thank you Theresa! Happy creating!
