We just got back from a great vacation in Key West, Florida. It was so nice to get away and wonderful to share new sites and experiences with my three kids and husband. My husband and I hadn’t been to Key West in 20 years. Back then, we just had one child and she wasn’t even a year old yet! This time we needed a lot more space, so I rented this townhouse. It’s so nice to have plenty of room for everyone, especially when you’re tired from a long day and tropical heat.
One of the other reasons that I love to rent a house to stay in is for the kitchen. It saves us lots of money being able to stock a fridge with food and drinks instead of eating out all the time. We definitely tried the local food but it’s nice to have options, right? One of the things I made sure to pick up was TruMoo chocolate milk. I always feel confident buying TruMoo for our fridge, even when I’m out of town, because they use local dairies for their milk. That’s important to me. Plus, I know I can count on it tasting awesome! You can make a lot of things with it too. Check out my TruMoo recipes!
One day we took a glass bottom boat tour out to a reef. Here’s the view of Mallory Square as we headed out. It was a great day but hot!
When we got back to the house, I made milkshakes using chocolate ice cream and TruMoo chocolate milk for everyone. They were so good! It was a perfect after dinner treat.
This guy is probably TruMoo’s biggest fan. He won’t drink any other chocolate milk AND he looks forward to their seasonal flavors too. His favorite? Chocolate Marshmallow. By the way, it won’t be long and TruMoo’s Seasonal Orange Scream will be back! Check out this swirled cupcake I made with Orange Scream.

So much fun! None of us had ever been on a glass bottom boat. It was really cool! They gave an informative eco-tour and pointed out some interesting marine life that inhabit the waters of the island. I love a tour that is fun and teaches! On the way back we got to stop and watch the sun set. That is literally cause for celebration in Key West. Everyone claps and toasts the sun. What a great tradition!
Eventually we had to leave the palms of Key West and come home. Recently, we added some potted palms to our back porch.
Here’s my husband celebrating being home with a TruMoo milk shake. The palms aren’t as good but the TruMoo is! I picked up a gallon of it yesterday to stock our fridge at home. So, vacation is over but at least we can continue to toast the sunset here in our little pocket of paradise.
