No Sew Felt Candy Bar Holder
Today I’m happy to be a Guest Designer for Top Dog Dies! I’m using their Pumpkin & Finishers Die Set to create a fun candy bar holder. It’s perfect for a special Halloween treat! Even better? There’s no sewing involved! Sweet!
UPDATE 2/24/16 : Top Dogs Dies is no longer in business but you can use similar pumpkin and leaf dies to create this candy bar holder!
You’re going to love how simple this is! Using orange felt from my local craft store (those super cheap sheets of felt), I cut out two pumpkin pieces using the Pumpkin Album die and my Sizzix Big Shot.
I cut out the stem and face using black and brown felt and the pumpkin album finisher dies. Next, I cut out a variety of those cute leaves using a few different colors of felt.
Truth time! I bought this Hershey’s King Size chocolate bar first and planned this whole project around the chocolate. Priorities, right? LOL!
I laid the chocolate bar on one piece of the pumpkin felt and created an outline just skirting the chocolate using Fabri-Tac glue. Next, I added the top pumpkin layer. I had to trim the edges just a bit. Not much though!
Aren’t those tiny leaves pretty? Cut out a bunch of them and glue them to the opening of the pumpkin. So sweet!
I’ve also got a fun Dragon bookmark to share with you today.
I’m using the Dragon Die along with green Glitter Silk and Vintage Collection cardstock from Core’dinations.
UPDATE 2/24/16 : Top Dogs Dies is no longer in business but you can use similar dies to create a fun bookmark OR consider cutting out a similar .svg file using the Cricut or Silhouette!
I cut out several dragons using my Sizzix Big Shot.
Once cut out, the dragons are perfect as bookmarks!
If you feel that the dragon isn’t hugging your pages quite enough, simply glue them to a paper clip for a perfect fit!
Have a crafty day!
Joy,
That is just to cute…and that dragon is adorable, what kid wouldn’t love that? I’ve seen TD offers when I receive AccCut e-mails, are they the parent company? I never really checked them out, but I may now. Love the pumpkin.
