TruMoo Layered Popsicles & Embroidered Summer Napkins

You know what I think is fun about entertaining? Complete artistic control. LOL! Well, sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t but in theory, I love to create themed moments. Notice that I didn’t say, themed events. I do like themed events and I have done them but let’s settle on themed summer moments, because that’s easier to accomplish more often. I am pretty serious about my complete artistic control though…but that’s where my serious streak stops. I like to come up with the theme and create my idea but then, I’m ready for fun!

My thoughts about summer entertaining are: keep it simple. You can go all out with huge plans but how often can you do that? Creating easy snacks and a few themed items that you can pull out often means that you can entertain more and stress out about it less. To stress less, plan ahead. I embroidered napkins a week before I planned to use them. That was especially important for me because this was the first time I ever used my embroidery machine to do more than a single letter. If I’d waited until the last minute to do this I guarantee that I would have made mistakes.

Aren’t these cute?! I think they turned out great! All I did was add summer themed images to napkins that I already owned. It’s such a small thing but it really helps lend a theme to a simple get together. Plus, it was fun! I’m falling in love with my embroidery machine.

I like to mix it up when it comes to serving items. Here’s some delicious TruMoo Chocolate milk in a mason jar. It’s sitting in a large bottle cap. Use things you have! I actually bought those bottle caps a few years ago for a craft project I never made. I’m kind of glad I never made it because I keep finding uses for the large caps when serving things. It’s the same with the mason jars. I bought those when I thought I’d start canning food. I’ve never canned a thing in my life. No matter! I use them now to serve fun drinks and to display flowers. They’re cheap, easy to use and perfect for simple entertaining!

Fun and simple snacks are essential to easy entertaining. These layered popsicles are made using instant pudding and TruMoo milk. Layering them wasn’t hard either. I used popsicle molds, poured in the first color, then the second, then the first again. Simple! Like the layered look? Check out these super cool cupcakes!
