Friday the 13th – Stanley Hotel – Stephen King’s The Shining

Hey Everybody!  I cannot believe I am going to do this, but today I’m in Colorado and am going to take a ghost tour of the Stanley Hotel BY MYSELF AND it’s Friday the 13th!  Well, there will probably be other people on the tour, but I won’t know any of them. 😉  Are you familiar with the Stanley?  It’s the hotel that Stephen King used as his inspiration for the book (and later movie), The Shining.  Woooo…wooooo (Those are my ghost noises.)  I’ll come back later today and update you about my spooky experience.  For now, let me share with you this uber supportive IM conversation from yesterday about my tour with DH (dear husband). 😉

Yesterday, I IM’ed my husband, who already knew I was planning to go soon, but not exactly when.  Here’s our conversation.  If you’ve seen The Shining, you’ll understand the context.

(11:31:26 AM) ME: Tomorrow is FRIDAY the 13th and guess where I am going?

(11:31:37 AM) DH: LOL

(11:31:49 AM) DH: You are SOOO hacked to pieces with an axe

(11:32:10 AM) ME: Ok, I actually LOLed and spit onto my computer screen after reading that.

(11:32:11 AM) DH: “HERE’S JOHNNY!”

(11:32:24 AM) ME: Thanks babe.  That’s so nice.

(11:32:44 AM) DH: if you hear children giggle… RUN

(11:35:30 AM) ME: nice.  Thanks for that fear factor.

I’m on my way now.  Happy Friday the 13th!!!
