Design Team Thursday

Hi friends!  This week the Design Team has Valentine’s Day on their minds.  Look at all the sweet ideas.

JIN

I’m Jin and I use Joy’s stamps to make cards with my Cricut and Lettering Delights graphics and SVG. I do not use any Cricut cartridges for my cards (except for the occasional panda from Create-A-Critter).

Today’s card is a little note card that would be perfect for use as a Valentine. I used a brand new Lettering Delights SVG set called Love Pets and imported the sheep into Make-the-Cut before cutting it out with my Cricut. The card base was made by welding 2 shadow layers of the sheep with a rectangle. I combined two of Joy’s stamps to make the sentiment. I masked the “Thank” from “Thank Ewe” (Lots of Pun) and the “You” from “Love You” (All Around Sentiments) to get “Love Ewe”. Super Joy makes Super Cool stamps so you can make Super Cute Valentines!

Just look at that stamping on the clear plastic!  I love it!!  This is such a sweet gift.  My sons are so special to me. ~Joy~

MELISSA

Key to my Heart

When I saw this heart on Indie Arts, I just knew it would be the perfect for a Valentines Day Card. The heart is cut at 2.5, I used the ” I Love you” from Joy’s All Around Sentiment Stamps to add just the right touch. My patterned paper is from GCD Studios and the ivory paper is from recollections.

I added a couple of clips at each end of the heart, one to serving the purpose of closing the heart, which covers the hidden key!

This is such a beautiful idea!!  🙂 ~~ Joy~~

The “Cute as a Bug” stamp comes from Joy’s Lots of Pun stamp set.

I used the Wild Card cart for the card shape and inlay circles. The card was cut at 8″ x 4.18″ and the striped inlay circle was cut at 3 1/4″, both were cut using my Gypsy. The worm and flowers were cut from the April Showers Cricut cart.

The worm was cut at 2 1/2″ and the flowers were cut at 1″, 3/4″, and 1/2″. The papers are DCWV and Bo Bunny. The twine is from The Twinery and the worms face is from Peachy Keen Stamp’s new stamps set PK-450 Wide Eyed Kids Face Assortment.

I’m always excited to use Joy’s stamps! This week, I created an adorable Valentine’s card using the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge and the Mother and daughter stamp set. I really love this cartridge; it is so cute and fun! I like to try to keep my projects simple so I can whip up cards fast if I need to.

Recipe: Cardstock – craft (cut at 5′ by 10′ folded in half), white, pink patterned paper, colours for heart cut outs, Scalloped circle – one cut at 4.75′, one cut at 4.5′, one cut at 1′ (to create I (heart) You: stamp image repeatedly with red ink, Joys Life Mother and Daughter Stamp Set, Simply Charmed: Images cut at 2′, Ink, Brown Ribbon, Adhesive, Polka Dot embossing folder, Dimensionals and action wobbles, White gel pen

TAMMY

I created this card with my two year old in mind, this is the card I am giving him for Valentine’s Day. I really think he will like it! I used two different Lettering Delights SVG sets, a heart punch and two different Joy’s Life Stamp Sets to create this card. The Dinosaur is Dino #5 from the LD SVG set “Dougs Dinos” and the volcano and tree are from the LD “Balloon Craze” SVG set, I substituted hearts for the circles on the tree and I cut the top off of the mountain to create the volcano. The grass is from an SVG in my collection but there are lots of carts with grass. I popped up the dino with popdots and the sentiment I created using several different stamps and my “tape method” to mask off what I do not want so I can use bits and pieces of stamp sets to give me more variety. I used the “Father & Son” Stamp Set for the You’re, Be and my and Dino-mite is from the  “Lots of Puns” stamp set. I also used a white gel pen to do some doodling for definition.  “Valentine” is a handwritten sentiment.

AMANDA

The sentiment on my Healthy Goodie Sack Tag is from the Joy’s Life Stamp set “All Around Sentiments Stamps”.  You can find these stamps here in( Joy’s store ). I also used  the ” Be Yourself” stamp set from Close to my Heart, some scrap pattern paper, twine, a black marker to make some stitching, a cellophane bag, and some homemade granola bars.
