Line a baking sheet with foil and place the tilapia fillets on the baking sheet.
Sprinkle the fish evenly with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
If you like a brighter flavor, squeeze a little fresh lime juice over the fillets.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the tilapia flakes easily with a fork.
Warm the tortillas if desired.
To assemble the tacos, place about 1/2 tilapia fillet in each tortilla.
Top each taco with about 1/2 cup shredded lettuce, 2 tablespoons salsa, and 1 tablespoon shredded cheddar cheese.
Add another small squeeze of lime if you like extra citrus flavor, then serve immediately.
Notes
Warm the tortillas before assembling the tacos. Heating them in a dry skillet or briefly in the microwave makes them softer and more flexible.After warming the tortillas, gently bend them into a curved shape and place them on a plate with the seam side down.
