You Make Me Happy Scrapbook Layout – Lori Whitlock Blog Hop

Welcome to the Lori Whitlock blog hop!  Be sure to check out the other blogs at the end of this post.

Chipboard scrapbook layout for display.

Hey everyone!  I’m glad to be back and being crafty today!  I’ve been working on making my crafty space more efficient and less of a disaster area and I finally finished.  YAY!  I’ll share it soon but today take a look at the way I like to do scrapbook pages.  This You make Me Happy 2-page layout is by Lori Whitlock.  You can cut out all the pieces of it using your die cut machine.  Sweet!  I’m using a Silhouette Cameo.

Print then cut.
Print then cut.

I imported the file into the Silhouette software and filled the images with color so I could print and cut them.  Here’s how to import images into the Silhouette software.  Here’s how to print and cut with the Silhouette.

Chipboard gives it stability.

Next, I cut out the same items using chipboard.  You can cut chipboard that is the thickness of cereal box using the Silhouette Cameo.  You can also just use cereal box.  I prefer that!  Here’s a whole post about how to cut cereal box/chipboard with your Cameo.

Now just glue it all together!  I like this part.  This is when it really starts to look like something.  I’m using Zip Dry Paper Glue again.  You know how I love it.  Here’s another of Lori’s scrapbook layouts that I turned into a display for my mantel.

Me and my sons playing pool, at the circus and bowling.  My fat cat makes me happy too…when he isn’t making me crazy.

Here’s how to import photos into the Silhouette software.

Clearly, we’re a serious group.  Here’s my son at the circus, me and my daughter acting crazy and me and my bro.  Missing photo?  My BFF husband.  I was laying these photos out and realized I’d uploaded the wrong one instead of the one with him in it that I wanted to use.  Darn.  He for sure makes me happy when skies are grey, or any other color for that matter.

  1. LOVE IT! I can’t believe you did a scrapbook page! 🙂 I never use the print and cut feature, it looks so good. I need to try it sometime! Beautiful as always Joy!

    1. LOL, Lisa! I know, right?! It’s shocking! 😉 I really do enjoy making them using Lori’s templates. Without the ease of creating with the templates, I just won’t do a layout. Hey, if they get me to scrapbook, that’s saying something! They rock!

How do you cut cereal box using the Cricut? I tried once & the box just moved all around the mat so I had to cancel the cutting & haven’t tried it again. Is there a science to this or do I just need to use a new mat, (for sticky quality)? ANY help would be appreciated at this point as I am just a bit cereal box shy right now & you are the Queen of Cutz as far as I am concerned!!! Thanks in advance Joy!

  15. I like the layout! I noticed that it can accommodate four pictures per layout, what size is that? Can you give us instructions on how to use the Silhouette software? Such a good presentation! Looking forward to your other crafts in the future. 🙂
