Walk Out on Wednesdays & Go Off Track

This shop has been compensated and I received a free product for this review. All opinions are mine alone. #walkoutwednesdays

In my last exercise post, I had just completed my my first 5k.  I’m planning on beating my time in another one soon!  As part of my routine to keep moving, I’m making sure to continue to “Walk Out on Wednesdays” with Omron’s inspiring program.  It encourages women to drop what they’re doing, grab a friend and take time for themselves to exercise at least once a week.  Exercising with a friend is a great way to stay focused on your physical goals but sometimes doing the same thing gets dull.  You might be tempted to quit because you’re bored.  Does that happen to you?  I know it’s happened to me.  You can solve that problem super fast!  Simply go off track by varying your routine and your route, it makes a huge difference!

This week I got out of my neighborhood and drove to a trail I never take, which is crazy since I drive past it pretty often.  It’s amazing how much it changes your mental state about exercise, at least for me, when I vary my routine and view.  It adds bounce to my step for sure!

You’ve got to start somewhere each day!  Just before I took off on my new trail, I clipped the Omron Alvita Wireless Activity Tracker (HJ-327T) to my shirt.  You can clip it to your purse, backpack, whatever.  That’s a nice feature!  Don’t worry about my 144 steps, that was just my quick walk from the parking lot to this new-to-me trail.  I’ll get more steps in, don’t worry!

I like that I can track my  progress in the free Omron Fitness mobile app.  It helps you set personal goals related to steps, miles and calories.  You can transfer your fitness data wirelessly to your smartphone and check your progress along the way, which is so super nice.

Walking with a friend is great because they offer encouragement just by being with you and having that walking date together!  Plus, when you decide to take more remote or less traveled trails it’s good to go with a friend.  It’s safer and you get to enjoy your great finds with a friend!

Here’s this weeks great find, an up close lake view!  So, when this Wednesday comes around…drop what you’re doing and walk out on it.  Vary your route if you need a change.  I guess I say, “Go off track to stay on track!”  Right?  Don’t you think that’s a great idea?

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Omron. The opinions and text are all mine.
