Vinyl Gift – Danger My Inlaws Have Matches!!

Oh, if only my inlaws just played golf.

Haven’t I told you that my inlaws live 3 doors down?  It’s true.  We all live in a subdivision where the rules are pretty strict.  Now, I’m not one of those folks who have memorized every rule, but I’m pretty sure that using explosives in watermelons is a no-no here in subdivision by-law land.  Nonetheless, my FIL and BIL have entertained my kids, my niece, nephews and assorted neighborhood kids by blowing up some excess watermelons that they had.  (This year they made a small garden in the back.)  It’s made for some interesting calls to me from my MIL.  Like this, “If you hear a loud explosion, don’t worry!  The kids are up on the deck and FIL and BIL are blowing up a watermelon.”  Good grief.

So, I made FIL and BIL this hilarious “Danger” gift as one of their Christmas presents.

I put all their “gifts” inside this Home Depot paint bucket.

“Danger” is from Indie Art Cricut cartridge and is cut out of black vinyl.

I taped some Band-Aids and burn gel to the inside of the lid. 😀

Each of the bad examples men got their own hardhat with their initial on it. I used Lyrical Letters for the initials.

In case they become incapacitated, their audience who are watching on a deck high above the action can see these distress signs.  (Sort of like Wile E. Coyote in the Roadrunner cartoons.)  I used the Sesame Street Font cartridge for the sign lettering.

Yep, that is Caution tape!  I added that in along with these things below.  My thought was that they could make a blasting zone with the Caution tape and the 4 orange stakes.  DD thought they could use glow sticks for something, so we added those in too.

The hats, signs and everything fit inside this bucket with the lid able to close.  Woo hoo!

This funny gift was accepted in the good humor it was given.  The guys put on their hats and everyone was howling with laughter.  You’ll be happy to know that there were no explosions on Christmas Day.  (What a relief!)

IDK what I would do if our families were “normal”!!
