Great tip Joy…love it! I like when you can save time. I also want to thank you for the tip on the software…getting a Silhouette soon, and if I can save money, even better. I have a question about the Expression…have you seen the Shimmer Sheetz by Elizabeth Craft? If so, do you know if they will cut with the Expression?

    1. You’re welcome, Blue Rose! I haven’t tried the Shimmer Sheetz but they look cool. (I just checked them out after you mentioned them.) 😉 Since I haven’t seen them in person, I’m not sure if they’d cut with the Expression. Sorry, I don’t know more about that! 😉

Finally! I don’t know how many times someone has asked on the various silhouette help sites, on how to do this. I had never seen an answer! When I buy a file, I usually spend a looooong time importing all the various cuts, then having to group them. This is so easy….THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

    1. You’re welcome, Mary! I was importing that way too until one day I had my Google Drive opened along with my Silhouette software so I just drug my file over to see if it would work like it did in some other software I had. When it worked, I was surprised and thrilled! Happy (quicker) crafting!

  4. Playing with my new SIL so I appreciate ALL your tips especially this one! I’m still trying to get a hold onto the “compound path” understanding??

  5. Holy cow, that is soooo much easier than importing each one. Thank you so much Joy! I love your site, and have learned so much from your videos.

  6. Does this mean that I can purchase a Cricut Cartridge and import the files to Silhouette Studio designer edition? Thanks 🙂 Newbie just trying to figure it all out!

  7. YOU are the most awesome-est of the awesome, Joy! Thank you for all of your Silhouette tutorials and the time you put into them. Finally I have found someone that I can understand. I let my Silhouette Cameo sit all by itself, collecting dust, for just short of a year after I bought it. I was so intimidated! Since finding your website (and following your instructions) I have become too brave for even my OWN pants! ; ) Seriously, what a God send you and your blog have been to me! I don’t comment on many blogs but I had to take the time to tell you that your time and information have made me and my Cameo “friends”. Thank you so so so much!!!!! Forever your #1 fan…. Penne

    1. Penne,
You made my day! Thank you for taking the time to write that comment. 😀 I’m so happy to hear that I helped! Good for you being too brave for your own pants…I say…brave right through another pair! LOL! Good for you, Penne. It’s awesome to hear that!

  8. Thanks for this great tip! I’m checking out your other posts on Cutting and crafting. I make doll clothing and doll clothing patterns and want to learn more about the short cuts that work for my Silhouette Cameo II.

  9. When I try to drag it onto mat, it says file not supported. It’s an SVG. Any suggestions?

  10. I upgraded to the Designer Edition and it still won’t let me import or drop and drag most of my .svg files. These are converted from jpg to svg using an online converter. What could I be doing wrong?
