Sweet Treat Boxes with Peanut Butter Fudge – Happy Holidays Blog Hop

Boxes full of yummy goodness!

I love these adorable handled boxes from Lettering Delights. I was able to cut both of these boxes out of one 12×12 sheet of paper!  They were super simple to put together too.  Just fold and glue.  YAY!  Best of all?  They are holding Peanut Butter Fudge!  It’s pretty easy to make but you need A LOT of sugar.  A LOOOOOOTTT of sugar.  Making some cute boxes and adding a little sweet treat is a nice and inexpensive way to give a small gift.

Let’s Make a Sweet Treat!

A mere 3-1/2 cups of powdered sugar. LOL!

This is the first time I’ve made this recipe…or any kind of fudge EVER, for that matter.  I have an adjustable measuring cup that is perfect for things like peanut butter…but I never use it.  So, here I am scraping it out of my favorite Pyrex measuring cups.  They’ve been used so much most of the lettering is coming off.  I love them.

Brown Sugar…you look like an ant hill.

This is 2-1/4 cups of brown sugar.  That’s a lot of sugar!  Did you see all that powdered sugar above too? This is not a recipe for sugar conscious people, for sure.

Dear Peanut Butter, if I am reincarnated, I’m coming back as jelly so we can get married.

Ahhhh…my kitchen smelled like a candy shop!

Stir it up, pour it into a pan & chill.

After stirring, this will soon be ready.  Pour it into a pan, chill it and then…eat it!

Peanut Butter Fudge

Recipe is #68659 from Food.com

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar

DIRECTIONS

  • Place butter into a medium saucepan and melt it over medium heat.
  • Add brown sugar and milk, stirring.
  • Boil for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Mix in peanut butter and vanilla.
  • Place confectioners sugar into a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour hot peanut butter mixture over confectioners sugar and beat until smooth.
  • Pour fudge into an 8 by 8 inch pan.
  • Chill until firm, about 1 hour.
  • Cut into 1-inch squares.

Let’s Box Up Our Tasty Treat!

I’m using Joy’s Life “Oh Christmas Puns” & “Wintery Puns” stamps.

I used Lettering Delights Bo Ho Ho graphics to create these print and cut snowman tags.  The stamp used on the front of the snowman and the two used on the back are from Joy’s Life “Oh Christmas Puns” and “Wintery Puns” stamp sets.

Peanut Butter Fudge in cute boxes is a great gift!

I cut a piece of wax paper to fit the boxes, then I used decorative scissors to create a pretty edge to the paper.

Go see the great projects from these talented ladies!

  1. WOW – that fudge looks really yummy!! I love the treat boxes and the snowmen are so cute. I make coconut cranberry squares and it’s what I normally take to Christmas lunches/pot lucks for a dessert – they are delicious and I always come back with an empty plate – but I always make a big batch and keep some for us too:-) Have a great Holiday Season.

I love to give treats and your awesome Christmas stamps would make it even easier!!!!!!!!! 😉 My favorite thing to give is our sugar cookies! They taste more like snickerdoodles and we cut them into so many festive shapes. They are so tasty that the kids & I choose not to frost them, but we like to give them some color with colored sugar (that you sprinkle on).

Thank you so much for sharing and for the chance to win (I wish!),

  41. I love making No Bakes (chocolate, peanut butter, oatmeal drop cookies). They have always been my family’s favorite. Love your site and thanks for all you do to help inspire us! Merry Christmas!

  42. Granna Deanna says:

I like to give sugar cookie kits. Along with the recipe, I include the dry ingredients in a small plastic bag, at least one Christmas cookie cutter, and several bottles of colored sugar. I like to package them together in a cute tin or basket. These are great to give to to everyone at your child’s school that touches them throughout the year (bus driver, janitors, cafeteria staff, office staff, classroom teacher, aides, and ancillary teachers –librarian, art, computer, PE, music). I have also given them to church staff, neighbors, Secret Sisters, and those that deliver the mail or newspaper. These are relatively inexpensive and quick to make and my kids always enjoyed helping being part of the assembly line as we put them together. I always make a few extra to have on hand when I need a last minute gift. You can easily change the cookie cutters & color of the sugars to make gifts for other holidays.

  43. Oh yum….fudge is my fav! I’m not a peanut butter fan but my hubby loves the stuff so he would love this recipe thanks so much for sharing! Your sweet lil’ boxes are the cutest…I just love them! 😉 Merry Christmas! Hugs xx

  44. Love the cute boxes with those adorable snowman tags! I usually make several different cookies and candies and give out sampler plates at Christmas. I have never made fudge but that peanut butter fudge sure is tempting. Thanks for the link to the recipe!

  45. My gifts in a jar (soups, cookies, breads) are always a big hit! I have as much fun making them as people do receiving them.
