Post Card Envelope Mini Album

Welcome to the Summer Road Trip Partner hop with Spellbinders and DecoArts!  I’m sharing a simple envelope mini album that is perfect for saving ticket stubs, photos and other memorabilia from a vacation that you cherished.

This project couldn’t be any easier!  Find papers that you like and a stack of envelops.  Cut the papers to fit the envelope and glue them down.  You can embellish them as much as you’d like.  I kept it simple using a variety of Spellbinder’s newest Sapphire dies, Simple Stories papers and metallic paint and Gloss Varnish from DecoArts.  I was inspired to create this simple craft so I could keep things from my recent trip!

If you haven’t heard about it yet, the NEW Sapphire is an easy to use manual die cutting machine by Spellbinders.  It’s cuts and embosses paper and other materials using dies up to 2 1/4” wide. It has co-ordinating Sapphire™ blue dies.

I used DecoArt Metallic silver paint to add just a touch of reflection to the edges of each page.

DecoArt has a ton of gorgeous paint options so you can add whatever your creative heart desires!  I’m just using a simple sponge brush to help me add it to the edges.

I added a little metallic paint to this stamp and stamped it directly onto the top page.  I thought this gave it a nice cancelled post sort of look.

Not only does DecoArt have paint they have this cool gloss varnish too.  (They also have gesso, mattes, lots of things!)  After painting the paper designs that I created using the Spellbinders Sapphire dies P1267 and P1372, I added gloss varnish to give them a nice sheen.  Then I stamped that painted stamp onto them too.  You can have so much fun with paint and dies, can’t you?

To finish, I added stickers, lace, brads, flattened bottle caps and epoxy bubble caps.  Create your own mini album using paper bags, envelopes or whatever you have on hand.  To bind it you can punch a hole in the corners and secure them with ribbons, rings or wires.  It’s really all up to you!
