How to Make a Maraca Bookmark using the Cricut Paper Play Cartridge – Video

I had such a good time making that monster bookmark the other day, I decided to try my hand at the Cricut Paper Play cartridge and make a maraca one.  In this video, I give a few tips about how I restick Cricut mats and paper I like to use for testing cuts before I make complete projects.  Below this video you can find links to the things I show or mention.  I hope you enjoy it!

In this video, I mention or show these items:

Cricut Paper Play Cartridge, Wausau Paper 110 lbZig 2 Way Glue PenQuickStik Craft Tool and the Shopaholic book series.

Happy Crafting!

Joy, you are so funny! Your little maraca (or hot air balloon) bookmark is so cute! I’m glad I’m not the only one who has unexpected things happen to them while I’m crafting. It always takes me much longer than I expect it will to make something — even if I think it should be a very easy, short project. Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend!

OMGOSH Joy! You are wayyyy to FUNNY! I started laughing out loud when you tried to place the book mark in the book…. I’m still giggling! LOL I’m not sure what the heck that thing is either… I’ll go with a maraca too! It turned out very cute though…. Have a great day! 🙂

  3. Everything about this video makes me happy! From the paper moving on your mat when trying to cut, the little pieces sticking to your fingers when trying to glue them down, not being able to get the lid off your pick-up tool, trying to put the bookmarker in the book correctly…all that has happened to me too! Thank you for not editing all that out. I think it’s a maraca too and it turned out really cute. By the way, the pointy end of the pick-up tool should pop out too, and you can use it to hold the little pieces down with your other hand while you pull off the sticky end.

  4. Joy that is a super cute bookmark. I think it is a maraca also.

  5. I know that I am a few days behind, but I really enjoyed your video. It’s always nice to see other people have the same trouble with projects that I do. Thanks so much for sharing. Also, I’m gonna try the trick with the mat.

I just watched this video–I don’t know how I missed it! LOL! And if you’re taking votes–I think it’s a maraca, because it’s rounded at the bottom, and I don’t think a hot air balloon would be. That’s just my opinion–like it matters, lol!

I love your humor–it’s good to see a professional craft like I do– make “mistakes” (I don’t mean that harshly) and laugh at them! Thanks for sharing this video–can’t wait to see what you come up with next!
