A few weeks ago I was at the dentist having some old fillings replaced.  I’d put off having it done after being able to wiggle out of my last appointment due one of my kiddos being sick.  The truth is, he just had a cold but I’ll take any excuse to get out of being in the dentist’s chair due to my sensitive teeth.  I’m normally a pretty laid back person but I’ve had to remind myself to not thrash around and throw wild punches when the dental hygienist simply blows air on my teeth.  It’s that uncomfortable for me.  So, I jumped at the chance to try the Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Sensitivity Pen as a proactive way to keep my wild punches and tooth sensitivity to a minimum.

The first thing I liked about the Sensitivity Pen is that it was easy to use.  Simply: Brush, Apply, Go.  The second?  That the Actis Enamel Pen blocks sensitivity at the source of pain.  Good.  Take that pain!

I tend to quit using things the second I feel better.  Are you like that too?  We have to stop doing that.  Sensitivity relief is 24/7 with continued use.  That means don’t just say, “Thanks so much I feel great!” and then stop using it.  Over time (with continued usage) the formula builds a barrier so teeth are less prone to sensitivity.  For me, this means not needing to forewarn people that I might freak out, flail around or shout inappropriate things if I eat something cold.

The toothbrush portion of the Enamel Toothbrush + Sensitivity Pen is designed with ultra soft bristles to care for sensitive teeth.

I picked my Colgate Sensitive Toothbrush and Sensitivity Pen up at Kroger.  It’s one of my favorite grocery stores.  I picked up all that lovely fruit below while I was there too!

Once you’re less prone to sensitivity try this pretty fruit infused water and ice cubes recipe!  You might even be able to chomp some ice, if that’s your thing.  It’s totally my thing.  LOL!

Ingredients

  • Water
  • Your favorite fruits
  • Mint optional

Instructions

  • Fruit Infused Water
  • Add your favorite fruit to a pitcher of water.
  • Smash mint with a spoon or with your fingers before or after adding it to the water to help it flavor the water.
  • Stir.
  • I find that letting it sit for a few hours really brings out the flavors.
  • If you plan to let it sit for a long time, remove rinds since they can add a bitter flavor to the water.
  • Fruit Ice
  • Using a small food processor, puree strawberries. Add water if needed so that the puree will easily pour into the ice tray. Pour into ice tray and freeze.

  1. For me, it’s the biting down into a popsicle. So happy we can enjoy our cool treats thanks to Colgate! #client

  2. I quit popsicles and ice cream bars because of sensitive teeth. I always end up biting them when there’s just that little bit left on the stick and then I get to do the angry teeth dance. I’ll have to try this stuff out and see if it works. Thanks for sharing!

    1. You’re welcome, Amber! 🙂 I hope it helps you!
