Don’t miss the give away at the bottom of this post!
Ah ha! The 14th almost slid by me unnoticed again but I was too quick for it this time! If you’ve been coming to Joy’s Life for a while then you know that the 14th of each month means two things: ONE = a give away (woo hoo!) and TWO = a thank you to you! I set aside the 14th of every month just to say, “Thank you to all of you who keep coming to Joy’s Life!” I thank you SO MUCH! It is wonderful to have such a supportive, friendly, fun and creative group of people come by and hang out with me for a while. This month I was really touched by the kindness, laughter and tears many of you shared with me on my Joy Joyslife Facebook page. We talked about the death of a parent because I lost my Dad in May eleven years ago. We also talked about the difficulties in seeing our children grow, even when they are reaching the milestones we’d always dreamed they would. “Momming” is quite the tough job, isn’t it? My daughter is leaving for college soon and it’s harder for me than I had anticipated. I’m so proud of her but didn’t I just give birth to her about 2o minutes ago? Overall, I decided that maybe this feeling of a heart almost breaking could just be my heart GROWING. I sure am going to miss her but I want her to go and dream her dreams. On this day after Mother’s day, I wish all the Mom’s out there the very best. It’s a joy holding their little hands and a privilege when their big hands reach for yours.
On that tear inspiring note, I’m glad my Puffs Plus are near and I think I should give something silly away, don’t you?

In the Silhouette software, you’ll need to “ungroup” the items and then click the cut lines button. If you aren’t sure how to do all that, refer to the posts below for a more detailed explanation:
Silhouette users, first try this: How to Make Imported .svg files cut in the Silhouette Designer Edition software (This can also show you in general how to ungroup things and make cut lines.)
If you’re importing the svg into the Silhouette software and the above info didn’t help, then try this: How to use the Offset Window to Make Cut Lines in the Silhouette Designer Edition software
I hope you enjoy this card!

I really enjoy trying new die cut machines. They are my true crafty passion! This is a video of my first experience and impression of the Sizzix Eclips machine. I hope it helps you on your path to decide which machine is right for you. I’ve tried all of the Cricut’s, the Silhouette SD, the Silhouette Cameo, eCraft, Gazelle, the KNK Zing and the Sizzix Eclips. My favorites so far? The Silhouette Cameo, Sizzix Eclips, KNK Zing and (out of all the Cricut’s) the Cricut Expression 2. If you click on each of those machines you’ll see posts I’ve made with them.

My sweet, now 6'2" and 14 year old, baby.
How many times do I say, “I can’t believe you can make this out of a single sheet of 12×12 cardstock!”? Well, mark me down for saying it one more time because you can make this whole frame, including a little stand all from a 12×12 sheet of cardstock.

I used Lori’s newest Echo Park paper line called Hello Summer. It’s so cute! Here I am feeding it into my Silhouette Cameo. I bought my Cameo from Expressions Vinyl.

This amazing beveled edge frame is available in several downloadable formats from Lori Whitlock and you can go right to it by clicking here.

After cutting out the pieces (from your single sheet of cardstock – AMAZING!) you just fold and glue to create the frame and stand. If you have any trouble folding the paper into a frame you can watch this video tutorial that Lori created. I did! It helped!

After a bit of folding we have a frame! Almost. It needs glue and it’s tiny triangular back so it can stand up.

This tiny triangle really does help the frame stand up. Cool!
A little Zip Dry Paper Glue and we’ll be all set…or at least the paper will be. Ba da dum! (…see ’cause glue has to set…uh…as my Dad used to say…a joke loses something if you have to explain it…another theory…it’s just not funny. LOL!)

Pretty paper no matter what side you use.
Side view of the triangular stand.

I need to start scrapbooking. I love seeing these photos.
I used some stickers from Lori’s Echo Park Hello Summer paper kit to add the blue corners, sentiments and the cute bee.
I hope you enjoyed this post. It was fun making this frame. It’s sitting on my mantel in the den now. You know what would be super cute? Putting a bunch of these frames on the mantel using different cardstock and uh…maybe showcasing my other 2 kids. LOL!
