My husband and I really enjoy entertaining with friends and family.  One of our entertaining tips is to create a wine pairing.  It’s a great way to learn what your guests enjoy and it always seems to lead to discussions about great dishes that someone has tried, favorite recipes and the places people were visiting when they had that memorable meal.  It’s a wonderful way to enjoy food, learn about others and experience a great bottle of wine.  Sometimes pairings are a person’s first time to try a particular bottle of wine, so it’s important to make sure the food and wine are a good match for each other.  You don’t have to be an expert.  Simply read the back of the bottle, ask for recommendations where you bought the wine or do some quick online research to get an idea of the foods that are best paired with that particular wine.  Here are three food pairs with Estancia Wines that I hope will inspire your table tonight.

My husband and I were inspired to create this lovely dish from a photo and recipe that I saw here.  That recipe called for making your own ricotta, which I think sounds fantastic, but we definitely did not do.  We bought the bread, ricotta, grapes and thyme at the grocery store.  We’d never roasted grapes before so we tried this recipe.  The finished product was great with a capital G.

Paired with the Estancia Cabernet Sauvignon it felt like we were in a wonderful restaurant enjoying a lovely night on the town, instead of sitting at the kitchen table with the dog on the floor.  Frankly, I call that the best of both worlds.  A fancy night…in!  You should really try this!

Purchase petite toast.  Add a slice of cherry tomato, feta cheese and top with chives.

Try this simple beef appetizer with a glass of Estancia Pinot Noir.  My husband created this recipe especially for this bottle of wine.  Then we got to enjoy it together.  YAY!  We had our own wine tasting complete with all of these pretty hors d’oeuvres.  It was so nice!  His favorite was this Pinot Noir, while mine was the Estancia Cabernet Sauvignon.
