Cricut Sweethearts Thank You cards…

thank you card from cricut sweetheart cartridge

I made this using light blue cardstock & white cardstock!!

I love it when a quick, easy technique makes a HUGE difference.  It’s so gratifying!

Have you ever tried this ink embossing technique?  Here’s how you do it:

You rub ink on a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (the inside top) then emboss your paper.  When it comes out you have what you see above!!!  Of course, your look with vary based on what folder you use and the ink you choose.

It’s easy to clean AND saves you money!!

My DH would say that when it comes to my crafting there is no such term as “saves money”, but trust me; this technique is a GREAT way to save money.  For instance, if all you have is white cardstock, you can make tons of different looks just by changing ink and/or embossing folders.  You know what’s really awesome?  You just take the folder, hold it under running water and the ink comes right off!!  Then you just dry it off and you’re all cleaned up.  Well, unless you’re like me.  I made the cards above yesterday and all my fingers are still blue.  The folders are clean, but I look like a Smurf.

If you use permanent ink, it may stain your folders. I used only water based inks.

I wanted to use my new Sweethearts Cricut cartridge for something and I really needed to make some Thank You cards for DD to give out as thanks for all the sweet gifts she got for her b’day.  I’m really behind on that.  Just to let you know, the cart is obviously perfect for Valentine’s Day, Weddings and Anniversaries, but there are many other cool cuts on there.  A few of the other cuts available on the Sweethearts Cartridge are: Dog, Cat, Monkey, Frog, Gumball Machine, Tree with hearts carved on the trunk, bouquet of flowers x 2, fleur-de-lis and several other decorative flourishes.

What I Used to Make the Cards:

  • Cricut Cartridge – Sweethearts (pg. 54 card gift 2 cut)
  • Cuttlebug Embossing Folders – Thanks, Swiss Dots
  • SticklesDiamond
  • Cardstock – Aqua Mist, White both by PaperTrey Ink
  • Ink – Stampin Up Classic Green Galore, Brilliant Blue
  • General Supplies – ATG gun, Fiskars trimmer
  • (The present is outlined in Stickles, but you can’t see it very well in the photo.)

Go Make Something Beautiful!!
