Only 22 more to go!
I decided to make some little treats for DS#2 to give out with his Valentine’s (which I’m also making…though I have no clue what I’m going to do yet…). These little boxes are so cute, but what a PAIN to get the tops to close correctly! I thought I was going to have to give up, but I’m glad I didn’t. Basically, you start by folding the opposing sides together. Then you tuck in the other pieces.
I used cardstock and scored 2 of the petal boxes and folded them with my bone folder. Then I decided to try just folding it with my fingers. Both ways resulted in some cracking of the paper at the folds. You can see that in the photo. It’s not a huge deal, but it aggravates me. Might as well do whatever is easiest if they’re going to crack either way, huh?
I was able to get 4 of these little boxes out of one sheet of 12×12 cardstock. I think I might have been able to get 5, but I used the quantity button set to 4. These cut at 4 1/2″. Using the Gypsy or Design Studio you could do a better job of fitting the cuts on the mat. With some manipulation you might be able to cut 6!! Hmmm…not positive about that.
These petal boxes came from the Tie the Knot cartridge. There are a ton of different occasions where these would be handy. Because the tops look like clovers, I think I’ll use some St. Patty’s Day paper and make some for that occasion! 😀 As you can see, at this size only one candy will fit. I chose a yummy cookies and cream chocolate shaped like a heart. How do I know they are yummy? Um lkwjglkj lojsdf … oh sorry, I was talking with my mouth full. LOL
I really like the Tie the Knot cartridge. You don’t have to be helping with or having a wedding to find some great things on this cart!
