Some places that you go in the South will ask you if you want sweet or unsweetened tea.  That’s usually because it’s a restaurant and they have to give options.  In some Southern homes, they’re just asking to be nice and because they know you’re from out of town.  They really only have sweet tea.  I used to live across the street from a girl when I was in elementary school.  We weren’t great friends but we played together a few times anyway due to our proximity.  One night I stayed for dinner and her mother made fried chicken, bisquits (from scratch) some other sides that I’ve forgotten since I was so stunned by those fluffy biscuits and my very first … sweet tea in mason jars.  For real.  Even though I really didn’t like that girl, I started wondering if there wasn’t something we could do to be better friends.  Sweet tea in mason jars…it can make you want to create alliances.

If you don’t know someone who can make a decent sweet tea, don’t worry.  You don’t need to make friends with the girl across the street, unless you just like her.  The whole process of making it just right has been perfected for you by Southern Breeze Sweet Tea.  Why do I like it?  Because it’s like happiness and summertime captured, steeped and poured.  It’s a pitcher-to-glass Southern experience.

You don’t have to add cups and cups of sugar to get the perfect sweetness.  Southern Breeze Sweet Tea is sweetened with Splenda!  The sweetener is already inside the Family Size tea bag.  Say what?!  Well, bless your heart Southern Breeze!

You can brew Southern Breeze Sweet Tea just like you’re used to. Then, steep it for five minutes, and chill it down in a pitcher with ice.  There are real tea leaves in the tea bags, not some imitation or powder.  I’m telling you, you need to give this tea a try.  We’re seasoned tea drinkers around here and with everyone’s first sip they either said, “Ahhh!” or “Wow!”.  I was pretty impressed with everyone’s response.  Then I tried it…ahhh…summertime and happiness for sure.

We didn’t grow up with sweet tea……we live in Nebraska. But we did live with a pitcher of instant tea on the table for every meal. I never even knew about “sun tea” until I was an adult! We always had the unsweetened kind with lots of ice. It was always so refreshing on a hot summer day!

  2. Hey, I’m down! I have sweet tea flowing in my veins!

    Joy,
I have never tried Sweet Tea, just regular English Tea with cream, always a staple in my home. My Grandmother taught me how to brew it, then there were the fine tea cups and saucers, and little yummy cookies, butter I believe. I felt like such a lady with her, it was so much fun. Anyhow, I love the mason jar, it is so cute. Would love to win to and try the tea. Lovely family, lovely home.

I like to make ice tea ice cubes. I use them in my ice tea so as not to water down the tea, Pour tea into ice cube trays and freeze. When ready pop them into a freezer bag to have handy when needed.

    1. Phyllis,
That’s such a good idea and I never remember to do it! …making a note to myself! 😉

I’m from Detroit and my Dad always had iced tea and spooned in the sugar. Well, the sweet tooth kid I was (and still am), I would dump in as much sugar as I could get away with. And if Dad happened to buy sugar cubes, look out! I was a sugar cube addict when you weren’t lookin’. Fast forward to the man I married who grew up on a farm in mid-Michigan. His family looks at me cross-eyed when I ask for sugar for my iced tea.

Joy, you have a lovely family and your beautiful daughter looks just like a model holding that glass of tea. Your future meteorologist is picture perfect to be on the Weather Channel!

I grew up on sweet tea….drinking it in the summertime with a meal. I actually didn’t know there was any other kind till I was pregnant with my first child. The doctor told me to cut out sugar and chocolate and to be sure to drink lots of tea. Well, I finally learned to drink unsweetened ice tea. However, I still drink hot tea sweetened. Thanks for sharing your time, talents, and ideas with us.

  7. My best friend who lived right next door to me had this beautiful sun room. Every Sunday, her mom and my mom would talk about life and grown up things while my best friend and I sipped our iced teas and played board games.

  8. I remember my mom making sweet tea every Sunday for our Sunday dinners.

  9. Yummy!! Sweet Tea!! Thanks for the chance

  11. I used to make sun tea a lot which is just sweet tea brewed in the sun. This looks like it would be a great alternative!

  12. There was always sweet tea in the fridge when I was growing up. For whatever reason I do not like sweet tea when I make it, but love everyone else’s.

  13. I’m from up north (Washington State) and sweet tea is only NOW starting to get up here in restaurants and fast food places. I’ve stayed away from it because I figured it was like Cool-Aid (all sugar). So I am puzzled as to how this could be calorie free? Hmmm . . . makes me really want to win this and try it out!

  17. We love sweet tea in our house. Too much sugar though. We sit on the porch at night watching the stars or in afternoon watching the hummingbirds, sipping on tea. I would love to give this a try with as a replacement to the sugar my kids are getting now. A good sweet tea is hard to find though.

  18. I grew up in Maine & LOVE, LOVE, LOVE sweet tea-used to make sun tea almost every day in the summer! But some how I ended up in Texas married to a Texan who doesn’t like his tea sweetened-crazy!!!

  19. Being raised in the South, sweet tea runs in my veins and it is my drink of choice. However, for the last few months I have been on a low carb food plan which prohibits my consumption of this wonderful beverage. To hear that Southern Breeze sweeten as it steeps and tastes good, well, bless your heart! I will be adding this to the top of my grocery list!

  20. I love that it’s so refreshing and it’s got the perfect amount of caffeine.

  21. Marlene A. says:

I was never a big soda drinker but I always loved “sun” tea. Now that I am older and have been a diabetic for 12 years I drink only drinks with Splenda (or the same).

  22. Love Splenda Tea. I also love the convenience of having the tea and splenda together for the steeping process. No more making a simple syrup for my tea. 🙂

  23. I love iced tea in the summer. Would love to give this a try!!!

  24. I grew up on sweet tea here in NC. One of my favorite memories would be my mom making sun tea, She would make tea in a recycled gallon pickle jar leaving it outside all day for the sun to brew it. Best sweet tea ever!! Of course now I have switched from tea sweetened with sugar to tea sweetened with splenda so I would love to win this giveaway! Thank you.

  25. Lisa Marie says:

I’m a southern girl who grew up drinking sweet iced tea all year round and have continued the tradition with my family, although we live in the upper midwest now. I get compliments on my sweet tea here, but I’m at the age when the metabolism slows, so I should try this Southern Breeze….may help my waistline!

  26. LauRa ari says:

My grandmother used to make the greatest sweet tea by the gallon in the summer!
